The Roger Bacon Academy (RBA) developed and teaches a classical history curriculum for the schools that it manages. \u00a0I have been asked\u00a0frequently how the RBA\u00a0\u201cclassical history\u201d curriculum differs from a typical \u201csocial studies\u201d curriculum, so I would like to share my thoughts on how one might view the difference.\u00a0 (With apologies to our Dean of ELA and History.)<\/p>\n

It is 100% ORGANIC.<\/strong><\/p>\n

RBA\u2019s classical history lessons contain only 100% ORGANIC, NATURAL information.\u00a0 No artificial ingredients have been added to preserve freshness or alter taste. \u00a0Historical information is historical.\u00a0 If it is made fresh, it is fiction not history.\u00a0 Also, nothing is more satisfying to the taste than truth; the truth does not benefit from alteration.<\/p>\n

No synthetic pesticides are used to reduce certain strains of historical epochs in order to allow other strains to predominate. \u00a0Successful strains will dominate and proliferate on their own merit without the need to introduce pesticides into the historical environment.<\/p>\n

It is non-GMO
\n<\/strong>(Government Modified Ontology or Group Mandated Opinions)<\/strong><\/p>\n

RBA\u2019s classical history curriculum is 100% natural.\u00a0 It comes to the classroom without any modifications whatsoever, unlike many popular texts. \u00a0(For example, a middle school social studies text was found to say that President Nixon dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima.)<\/p>\n

Ontologically, RBA\u2019s history is taught\u00a0chronologically \u2013 events are sequenced in the order in which they happened.\u00a0 Some older readers may wonder how else it could be done, so I\u00a0must report that there have been social studies texts that are organized by continents. Unfortunately, such texts bear no warning that they contain massive amounts of artificially manipulated GMO. \u00a0They may look and feel like non-GMO texts with nice covers and pretty illustrations, but let the reader beware.<\/p>\n

I\u00a0endorse labeling of GMO texts with a consumer warning \u201cthis text possesses a novel combination of information obtained through the use of modern revisionism.\u201d<\/p>\n
